I had a meeting today which was only 30 minutes or so but the guy had left his phone on and it rang 3 times and each time he was 'compelled' to pick it up and answer.
If I go to a meeting out of respect I put it on silent. But this guy?? Don't people realise how annoying and disrespectful this is? WARNING ... GRUMPY OLD MAN MOMENT COMING ... before mobile phones (and yes you younger ones reading this, those days did exist) we all managed perfectly well. I'm sure poeple can be away from their phones for at least 30 minutes whilst they have a chat with me?

Hi Rob
I totally understand where you are coming from on this. When i met with the marketing consultant a couple of weeks ago, although our meeting was a little over an hour long, his mobile phone kept ringing every 15 Min's or so. yes i can understand that to most people their mobile phone is the life line of their business, but surely good manners and business etiquette doesn't hurt to either switch it off or put it onto silent whilst already in a meeting. to me it was rude and unprofessional, (but hey just my own opinion) ![]() Caroline

If you don't want to turn off your cellphone put it on flight mode.

With respect to this post.
I think is completely necessary to switch off your phone when you are in a discussion or a meeting because if the phone rings,it completely destroy the atmosphere & speed of meeting & everyone looses his concentration. |

I also dislike such type of behavior, well I am proud due to my this habit that I will turn my mobile off before entering the meeting room.

I think there are some rules & regulations of a meeting.
It is necessary to switch off your phones. Otherwise a man looks like a complete stupid if the phone is ringing again & again in a meeting or a discussion. |
