Hello.
Can you give a suggestion how many social sites I should join for traffic generation? Do I need to join a lot like 4 of the famous ones: Facebook, Myspace, etc. And how about micro-bloggin sites like twitter and others? How many is enough? Thank you...

I don't think there is ever 'enough' - all links from such sites have value.
The main issue though must the time element. To attract the followers you have to be consistently posting. I've spoken to many small business owners who are now admitting that they don't look at as many social networking sites as they used to - you could spend all day at it and do little 'real' business.

Very true. I think though that having a good, up-to-date website is extremely important just in case.

It very much depends on what you want to achieve.
For search engine optimisation purposes you need to find websites that have links that "do follow" - that means they transfer a little of the page rank from one website to another and help new pages get indexed faster. Things like Twitter, MySpace and Facebook require you to build followers and to provide interesting content for them to want to visit your website. My experience is mixed but my blog is set up to automatically update Twitter and then Facebook.

As long as you own a team, going after each and every network could be beneficial. Most people do it just for the SAKE of DOING IT, and don’t really give it their all. Their approach is un-targeted, un-calculated and fruitless. The popularity of Facebook doesn’t mean it works every time.
Try looking for relevant social sites (there are plenty) and start creating a reputation on them instead. Engage in healthy, active conversation with fellow members. Impart solutions. This will enable you to generate genuine leads for your business. |

You should register to as many sites as you can handle. Just make sure you will be an active member of the community. It will really improve your business' online presence.

You can join to social sites as many as you like. Many of the marketers are doing this because they believe that this marketing technique is more effective than other methods.
